February already?

Oh Dear, there goes my un-official New Years Resolution to keep this updated more! I am sorry, but I have been a bit busy, with general stuff the past few weeks, including not having a cleaner in the house, which has meant I have had to try and keep busy with cleaning and tidying up after the 2 boys and 1 grown up boy! Not easy, I can assure you! If anyone has any ideas on how to get BG to lift the seat before having a tinkle, then do drop me a line!

Well, I have 11 days until my "on my own" holiday to America and Canada. The closer this comes, the more anxious I feel about doing it alone! I have even considered writing letters to the people I love.... I am not too sure if this is classed as pathetic or if some may find it practical! Either way, I am seriously considering it anyway, as was proved last year when my Dad died unexpectedly at the age of 59, life is far too short!

I am most definitely looking forward to the break of general mundane activities like washing and family ironing, cleaning and cooking, and plan to eat out as much as I can, and indeed can afford to! The friend I am visiting, VM, asked what I would like to do when I am with her, and without offending her, her husband or their daughters, I did request just an evening for the two of us to have dinner and get very sloshed! Not too sure how that has gone down, but I have no doubts that it will be all systems go on that one!

Whilst I am there I will be visiting my Aunt, Uncle, Cousins, Cousins-in-law and Great Cousins, which I am very much looking forward to. I doubt I will do very much whilst staying with these guys, as the best thing about visiting family is that you can sit around drinking coffee, or as we are in Canada, go out to Tim Hortons for coffee and the odd donut, or I can sit anywhere in the house, either with my i-Pad or a book just chilling. I will indeed attempt to help with their daily chores, but that will no doubt be the extent to my busy-ness whilst I am there! Of course being February there is still a bit of snow lying that side of the pond, and on previous visits there in February have resulted in looking at images like this:

The spray forms into little ice droplets, which feel raw and sting your face, however, look at the view... how can you not enjoy it?

Also this month myself and OH celebrate 13 years together! Yes, all those years ago, when I was a mere 21 and he was 26 we met. I would imagine that out of all of that time we have gotten along problem free for 98% of the time... which is not bad! Our Secret? Never get bored with life.... or each other, do something new each and every day, and let life remain a challenge!
